• Crime Thrillers- Policemen, guns, criminals, action, murder, serial killer, failed crimes
• Conspiracy thriller-hero confronts a large, powerful group of enemies whose true extent only he/she recognizes
• Disaster Thrillers- natural or artifical disaster, floods, volcanoes, nuclear disasters
• Erotic Thrillers- sex, revenge
• Legal Thrillers- hero confronts enemies outside, as well as inside, danger of losing their cases and their lives
• Medical Thrillers- doctors/nurses, medical problem needs to be solved
• Mystery Thrillers- suspence, solving, mystery, detectives
• Political Thiller-hero must ensure the stability of the goverment that employs him
• Psychological Thriller- main character is mental, emotional, obsessed
• Supernatural Thiller- ghosts, aliens, otherworldly element mixed with tension, plot twists, hero has some psychic ability
• Religious Thriller- plot closely connected to religion objects, religion issues, institutions and questions
• Techno Thriller- a suspense film in which the manipulation of sophisticated technology plays a prominent part
